When clogged up with dirt/oil, just squeeze out the oil or clean with mild detergent and rinse thoroughly.

Storage Keep the sponge clean- when it becomes dirty, use a neutral detergent, wash and dry in a cool place. When it eventually looses its elasticity it will not recover its soft state after cleaning and will need replacing. This depends on various factors including hot tub chemicals, sunlight exposure and amount of scum absorption.
